Breaking Dawn (No Spoilers)

The line outside of B & N at 9:30 AM

Tammy's Arm Paint

My lovely closeup

Tammy and I

I finished Breaking Dawn at 1 AM this morning. I really enjoyed it and I hope the rest of you will too! On Friday night Shawn and I headed over to Barnes & Noble to checkout their huge party. They had face painting, fortune telling, people who were getting bite marks on their necks (makeup kits), fashion shows and more. It was insane! My friend Tammy met up with me while Shawn went to go find something manly to do. Tammy and I got face and arm paint. Afterwards we decided to walk down and see how the line at FYE was. When we got there at 10:30 there were only 3 people in line. I decided to reserve a copy and get in line with Tammy. We were out of the store by 12:02 and I went home and read till 2:30. The craziest part about the whole thing ----People were camping out overnight at Barnes & Noble just to get their wristbands (which marked your place in line.) The wristband that I had (but didn't use) was for line K. When we left from FYE, we walked back down to our car by B & N and there were hundreds of people still waiting. I felt bad, so I made sure not to flaunt that I had my book already. I wonder how long it took for the line to completely disappear? Two or three AM maybe? Here are some pics.

I did it!

Ok, to be able to be in the Secondary Education program one has to meet certain qualifications. Such as having a score of or higher than a 19 on the ACT. Ok, had that one down, however, you must also have no score lower than an 18 in any area. Let's just get this out there right now, "Hello. My name is Sarah and I suck at Math."
When I took the ACT in high school I did not study or even care if I passed. I did not take a calculator because the book I had skimmed through said you could not take one. I bombed the Math section! Nearly ten years later I had to retake the ACT (really only the Math section.) I did really well but I received a 17 in the Math section. Had to retake. . . . two more times with more dutiful studying the final time to get a 19! (That was this morning.) I know this may not seem much to most of you out there but this is a miraculous feat for me. When I really apply my self (like my math classes in college, which I got A's in) I do well. Math is an area I will always struggle with. Hopefully I will not pass this on to my children. Anyway, there is my somewhat embarrassing story about the stupid ACT.

P.S. Did I mention that I only needed one more correct answer the first 2 times I retook? ARGH!!!

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

Here it is! The teaser trailer for The Half Blood Prince which comes out Nov. 21. Here's a bit of trivia about the movie: The young Tom Riddle is played by Hero Fiennes who is Ralph Fiennes nephew. Ralph plays Lord Voldemort. I can't really see the family resemblance but the kid looks pretty creepy! I am super excited for this movie!

Giving up the Ghost

Well, as Shawn put it, "The washer has finally given up the ghost."

We were deeply blessed to be given Shawn's Grandma's washer when we were married. It has been a good little washer considering it is probably at least 20 years old. I hopped on craigslist and found a set for $100. One of Shawn's co-workers and a friend came and helped him pick them up. THANK YOU to those two! Our old washer had been leaking for some time which we discovered wasn't the washer but the hoses!! (The washer is still broken though, the spin cycle doesn't work.) I am happy to have a working, non-leaking washer.

IPod touch

So, I sold my video IPod for $115 on Tuesday and bought a refurbished IPod Touch from Apple for $199. It arrived today and I am so absolutely in love with it! There are so many things you can do with it and it is so pretty. I can browse the internet or check my email when I am on any open wireless connection, I can watch movies in Widescreen, listen to music. . . the list goes on. Just thought I would let you all know how thrilled I am to have one and I highly recommend it to anyone who is a supergeek like me!

UPDATE

Ok. So I have quite a few things that I need to post about. Here is the first. . . . . the new Twilight Trailer. YIPPEEE!! Click here

P.S. Have any of you read the excerpt of Midnight Sun (Edward's viewpoint from the first book?) I liked it. If you haven't read it, here is the link

Independence Day

For the 4th we went to Tammy and Gus' for a BBQ party. I made a cake; it didn't turn out quite as pretty as I wanted. We had a blast playing Rockband and hanging with our friends. Here are some pics.
