Ok, to be able to be in the Secondary Education program one has to meet certain qualifications. Such as having a score of or higher than a 19 on the ACT. Ok, had that one down, however, you must also have no score lower than an 18 in any area. Let's just get this out there right now, "Hello. My name is Sarah and I suck at Math."
When I took the ACT in high school I did not study or even care if I passed. I did not take a calculator because the book I had skimmed through said you could not take one. I bombed the Math section! Nearly ten years later I had to retake the ACT (really only the Math section.) I did really well but I received a 17 in the Math section. Had to retake. . . . two more times with more dutiful studying the final time to get a 19! (That was this morning.) I know this may not seem much to most of you out there but this is a miraculous feat for me. When I really apply my self (like my math classes in college, which I got A's in) I do well. Math is an area I will always struggle with. Hopefully I will not pass this on to my children. Anyway, there is my somewhat embarrassing story about the stupid ACT.
P.S. Did I mention that I only needed one more correct answer the first 2 times I retook? ARGH!!!
