Thankful
You must watch this video! If you think your life is rough, nothing compares to little Brenden Foster. This video is an excellent reminder that we need to be grateful for the time we have here on this earth and make the best of it! What an amazing little boy! Thank you Brenden for your positive attitude and wisdom.

Family Pictures
We haven't had a family picture taken since before Nick went on his mission. Because everyone was here in Orem for my recital, we decided it would be a good time to get another picture taken. Also, I wanted a current picture of Shawn and I. I am definitely not looking my best. Maybe by the next round of pictures I will look slimmer. Here they are!
Back Row left to right: Chris, Sarah, Shawn, Dad, Mom, Nick. Andrew Front Row left to right: Cassie, Kimberlee, Marissa, Ela and Baby Brayden.
I decided to list the kids in order from oldest to youngest. Me (almost 27) and my husband Shawn, Nick (25), his wife Ela and their son Brayden, Cassie (19), Andrew (16), Chris (14), Kimberlee (11), and Marissa (6). That's my family!!

Senior Recital
Well, today was my Senior Recital. I have been stressed out and losing sleep over it for quite some time. I am so relieved that it is over!
I wish things would have gone better, but there is nothing I can do to change that now. I have been so busy with school this semester that my voice stuff has suffered quite a bit. I guess that's what happens when you are taking 22 credits and trying to work at least 20 hours a week. The first half of the recital was a little bumpy (memorization), but the last half was much better. It definitely was far from perfect but I did the best I could with the small amount of time I had. My family and my in-laws came up from St. George which was a big treat! I want to thank everyone that came. Here are some pics of me and the flowers that I received. (Thanks to Cassie, my little sis, who did my hair.)

Huh?
So, this cute 16-year-old girl at work tried to tell me that Paul Potts from Britain's Got Talent sings Nessun Dorma better than Luciano Pavarotti! Um, I don't think so! In my opinion the quality is not even close, Pavarotti out sings Potts by 150%! I admire Paul Potts and I think he has great potential but Luciano Pavarotti is the greatest Tenor of our time. Tell me what you think.

5th Anniversary and Student Teaching

Today is our 5th Wedding Anniversary! It's hard to believe that it has been 5 years! Time has flown by. Baby, I just wanted to tell you thank you for being an awesome husband and companion. There is no one else I would rather spend my life with. Love you.
On another happy note, I found out where I am student teaching next semester. For the locals: Lone Peak High with Lois Johnson. I have heard wonderful things about her and am excited to work with her. WOHOO!

It's Official: History in the Making!

Barack Obama is our 44th president! The first African-American to win!
I was pretty confident that Barack was going to win. He appeals to the younger generation and is loved by the media.
I'm not sure I should confess this but I voted for him. I'm looking forward with newfound hope and pray that he does his job well! I think this country is ready for change and hopefully this decision will mean change for the better.

ELECTION DAY!
Here are some statistics I heard on the news this morning: 44 million early voters nationwide and 340,000 from Utah.
In my Foundations of American Education we discussed some rumors: If McCain wins Virginia and Pennsylvania he'll win, but if Obama wins Pennsylvania he'll win. Interesting facts.
When Shawn and I left the house this morning, we saw a huge line of cars in an empty dirt lot. My eyes panned to the nearest building, and what did I see? A huge line of people waiting to vote! That really excites me that people are concerned about their future and exercising their rights as citizens of the USA! I encourage you to go vote if you haven't already. Polling locations close at eight.
P.S. I waited in line for an hour on Thursday to vote!
