UVU Pet Peeves

So, with my life being stressful I need to vent my frustrations so I don't explode into a million pieces! Here a few things that are driving me crazy about the campus:

Parking--in order to find a spot close enough (so I can rush to a building on the other side of campus or get to work on time)---I have to stalk people in the closer parking lot. If you arrive 5 mins before or after class starts there isn't a chance in hell that you will get a parking spot anywhere!!! Also, I have to leave some of my classes early to get to other classes--If I were to walk it would take 15 mins therefore I drive!

Pedestrians--sadly 2 people were hit on campus yesterday. I am surprised it doesn't happen more often. First of all, the drivers on campus drive like crazed maniacs! Secondly, the pedestrians cross wherever and whenever they want. Sometimes I swear the students are tempting me to run them over! Along with giving speeding tickets they need to give tickets for Jaywalking.

Idiot who designed streets--Campus road is connected to 800 south which is where the Education building is. The intersection from campus road to 800 south is about 2 car lengths long. This translates into a mile long wait to turn onto 800 south, especially if you are trying to turn left.

Fine Arts building--there isn't one! We sing in a little theatre that is meant for lectures and plays, not acoustically friendly. The sound that is projected by the performers dies just past the edge of the stage.

So--there you have it. These are things I have to deal with on a daily basis that drive me to complete and utter insanity! And I deal with these along with 2-3 hour classes ! These classes drive me to distraction, I can't pay attention for more than an hour. Any suggestions? All I can say is, I am ready for the college experience to be over!

I concur! They really really really need a performing arts center. But, how long how we been upset about that? Close to TEN YEARS?! Figure it out UVU...if you want musicians, give them a decent place to perform/have class/practice.

Hope things get better for you. Would getting one of those little scooters help? I know you can park closer at least.

You need to break a toe and get a handicapped parking pass. I think it would be totally worth it... Possibly. The lack of parking problems is one good thing about high school. I'm a teacher so I get a good spot, yay!

i can remember such frustrations, but somehow they all seem so far away and I'm missing UVU (UVSC when I was there) more and more :)
