Despite all the rumors and ill talk of the new movie, The Golden Compass, Shawn and I decided to go see it last Friday. We both thought it best to decide for ourselves what the movie represented. We both loved it! There was nothing religious in the movie, although symbolically there may have been. The movie is about free will---being able to make decisions for yourself, not being forced into them. I loved the movie so much that I went and purchased the books. I am going to read them as soon as finals are finished. I will let you all know what I think of them when I am done.

I loved the first book! The second and third book is where all the weird religious things start to happen, I didn't really like them, especially the third book!! I do want to see the movie though!
