Star Wars Celebration IV!!

Well, Shawn and I are finally home from L.A. (In case you didn't know we went there for the Star Wars Convention.) We had a blast but are extremely exhausted from many late nights. We saw many interesting and awesome things (a little Leia, Spidey Trooper, Elvis Trooper, a very Hairy Slave Leia, even Jack Sparrow.) It was definitely a trip of a lifetime. Here are some pics from the trip:

Happy Mother's Day!

I just wanted to wish all the Mothers' out there a wonderful day! Especially to my mother, Elizabeth, for being such an amazing mother; for being willing to listen to me and for being wise. A woman who sacrifices everything for her children.
Also, Carol, my mother-in-law, who spoils Shawn and I, and allows us to invade her basement whenever we visit. For always being there for her children (and grandchildren) especially attending special events like graduations, ordinations, concerts and so on. Thank you special Mothers', have an Awesome day!!

Love,
Sarah and Shawn

Car Drama

So, Tuesday night rolls along and I am running some errands. I get out of the car long enough to put some movies in the drop box at Hollywood Video; when I get back in the car, it won't start. With my luck, I am by myself and my cellphone has little battery life left. I call Shawn and ask him to call his sister and see if she can come and jump start the car. Shawn calls back and informs me that our brother-in-law, Mark is on his way to help.
As I am waiting I notice that there is an accident on Center St. Next thing I know the entire Orem Police, Fire and Ambulance are at the scene. Come to find out a pedestrian had been hit. The Fire Department closed off most of Hollywood's parking lot. (They were trying to tell me to move my car but that was impossible.) The victim was lifeflighted to a hospital and the helicopter landed about 40 feet from my car. It was a pretty traumatizing experience. The part that bothered me the most (beside the fact that someone was seriously injured and that my car wouldn't start) was that people were pulling into the parking lot to watch. I was so disgusted by these people!
After trying to jump the car for 40 minutes we gave up and ended up rolling it into a parking spot by the building. Mark was kind enough to loan us a car until we got ours fixed. The thing that ticks me off the most is that I had the car towed to a shop the next morning and after it being there for only 10 minutes they called and told me that it was the friggin battery! I guess it was so dead that it wouldn't hold a charge. Did you know you could remove the battery from a car and it could still start? New news to me. I am, however, grateful that the only thing wrong with the car was the battery. But it sure stressed me out a lot and now I am sick! This all happened the evening before my last 2 finals (which I didn't get any time to study for.) Anyway, that was the car drama story. (By the way, the pedestrian is doing fine, he is at Utah Valley Regional.)

School's Almost Out!

Can I tell you how excited I am that this semester is nearly over? EXCITED!!!!!!!!!! Now that I have my Junior Recital over and done with, finals are going to be a piece of cake! By the way, the recital went pretty well, I had a few flubs but overall it was really good. If I have any time I will post a video or recording. On to the next subject. . . . .
Spiderman 3 is less than a month away. Is anyone else excited about it? Well, not much else going on in the Kemple household. I'll fill you in when there is something exciting to talk about. TTFN!

Life

Isn't it amazing how chaotic your life can get? I think things will not slow down for Shawn and I until the semester is over! However, I am pretty excited for the summer to come; we have two trips planned. One to Los Angeles for Celebration IV and the other is a cruise to California and Mexico. Also, there are a lot of great movies coming out this summer: Spiderman 3, Pirates 3, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Transformers, Shrek 3. . . . . dare I go on? Not to mention the final Harry Potter book! Is anyone else completely thrilled and devastated about it?
The only thing I am really concerned about this summer is finding a more permanent job--a well paying job that isn't too high stress. Good luck with that one. If anyone has any suggestions on the job hunt, please, let me know.

Time for a Vacation

Man am I exhausted! This week has been very busy. Between the Aria and Temple Square Concerts (and the whole family being in town for them) it has been one heck of a week. Thank goodness I have a few days to rest my voice.
So, here I am sitting in the UVSC Music office on a Saturday while a Piano Federation is holding competitions. I had to be here at 7:45 AM to let them into the rooms and they didn't even get here until 8:20. Argh! I guess I shouldn't complain, they are paying me $10 an hour. Anyway, other than the two concerts, not a whole lot going on around here. Which, frankly I am quite glad about. I need a break (and so does my poor husband.) I will post clips and pics from the Aria concert when I get them. TTFN until I write again.
